Armuchee Lights up the Scoreboard in Win over Chattooga

The Armuchee Indians kept their playoff hopes alive with a big 54-21 region win over the visiting Indians from Chattooga. It was a tail of two halves as both teams moved the ball well early leading to a 27-21 Halftime score. The second half however would go Armuchee’s way as their defense held Chattooga to no points in route to the Win.

First Quarter

Armuchee would get the ball first and drive down the field for 6 points aided by a long pass from #1 Chandler Desanto to #35 Hayden Phillips. #3 Jackson Coonley would punch it in from 7 yards out. The PAT was Blocked by #1 Billy Settlemoir . The following Chattooga drive would end in a 59 yard punt by #19 Hunter Brown . The Indians from Armuchee would go and another drive finished off by a 22 yard pass by #1 Chandler Desanto to #4 that would fumble the ball near the goal line, but it would be picked up by #11 for the Touchdown. That would end the scoring in the first with the score Armuchee 13 Chattooga 0.

Second Quarter

The Indians from Chattooga would start the second quarter on offense. Chattooga would get their offense going and get on the Board with a 7 Yard Touchdown run by #3 Zaden Perry . Chattooga would force a Punt and just a few plays into the drive #11 Quarry Gibson would hit #12 Dan Meyer for a 75 yard Touchdown pass. After the PAT Chattooga would take the 14-13 Lead. Armuchee would move quickly down the field and add more points to the board on a 13 yard Touchdown run by #1 Chandler Desanto . After a penalty Chattooga would start the next drive near midfield. Just a few plays later #7 Zayden Cook would punch it in from 4 yard out. Armuchee would score the last points of the half on a 29 yard Touchdown pass from #1 Chandler Desanto to #9 Jacob Seagraves . The Halftime score would be Armuchee 27 Chattooga 21.

Second Half

Armuchee defense would stiffen in the second half and Chattooga would not score any more points in the game. Armuchee would take advantage of a few Chattooga turnovers and add 27 more points in the second half to widen the lead for Armuchee. The Final score would be Armuchee 54 Chattooga 21.

Next week

Armuchee moves to 3-3(1-1) and will be on the road next week in a huge matchup in Lindale vs Pepperell 3-2(1-0). Meanwhile Chattooga will return home for Homecoming and will host the Tigers from Darlington 5-0(2-0).
