PRESS RELEASE – Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader issued the following statement regarding an attempt to steal an ATM.
“In the early morning hours of Jan. 6, the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office was notified of an Automated Teller Machine alarm at the UCBI Trion branch.
Deputies arrived to find a stolen truck, which was used in an unsuccessful attempt to “hook” and steal the ATM.
The ATM was severely compromised during this attempt.
The investigation is ongoing.”
