Jury Convicts Defendant of Multiple Counts of Physical and Sexual Child Abuse

CHATTOOGA COUNTY, Ga. – On February 22, 2026, a Chattooga County jury found Timmy Glenn guilty of Rape, Aggravated Sexual Battery, two counts of Child Molestation, two counts of Cruelty to Children in the First Degree, two counts of Cruelty to Children in the Second Degree and Simple Battery following a five-day jury trial before the Honorable Judge Melissa Hise.

Evidence presented at trial showed that the defendant subjected three children in his care-one of whom was his biological child to repeated physical and sexual abuse while they were living in the same home with him.

The abuse came to light after two of the children were able to sneak out of the home and seek help from family members after one of them had been physically abused by the defendant with a large wooden paddle.

Authorities were contacted, and the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Department of Family and Children Services, conducted a welfare check at the residence.

Two of the children were removed from the home for their safety.

Detective Daniel Sanford with the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office led the investigation and arranged forensic interviews for the children at the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Children’s Advocacy Center.

During those interviews, the children disclosed that the defendant frequently used a large wooden paddle to repeatedly strike them sometimes multiple times a day-leaving significant bruising.

After the children learned that the defendant’s parental rights had been terminated and that they would not be returned to his care, they later disclosed in subsequent forensic interviews the full extent of the abuse they had endured while living under the defendant’s control, including the defendant’s repeated use of a tasing device on the children as well as several acts of sexual abuse on three of the children.

Two additional children who had been living in the home were also interviewed during the investigation. One child disclosed sexual abuse by the defendant, and testimony from another child who lived in the home further confirmed the pattern of physical and sexual abuse on the children in the home.

On March 9, 2026, the defendant was sentenced to Life with the first thirty years to serve in the Department of Corrections without the eligibility of parole.

The case was prosecuted by Chief Assistant District Attorney Lynsay Chapman, with assistance

from Victim Advocate Donna Howell, Administrative Staff Cara Parris, and Investigator Daniel Thacker.

From Acting District Attorney Deanna Reisman, “Ms. Chapman’s preparation and compelling presentation of evidence in this case ensured that an abuser who violated children entrusted to his care will never have an opportunity to harm another child.

We are grateful for the bravery of the children who came forward to speak truth about the harm the defendant caused them and the dedication of the law enforcement officers and prosecution team who secured a conviction in this case.”
